President – William R Linkow Executive Vice President – Harry S. Oliver, Jr. Vice President, Operations – James H. King Vice President, Product Development – William J. King Director of Pro Audio – Buddy Oliver FiberPlex was founded by five engineers in 1987. Inspired by new technology in the field of fiber optics, they understood its potential for the future of communications, and understood its value to governmental and civilian security. Over the years, they have developed devices for SCIF and TEMPEST applications. They hold patents for an innovative Wave Guide Filter, designed for cabling through shielded enclosure walls. With a strong interest in music and pro-audio, using fiber optic technology they pioneered, FiberPlex released the LightViper product line in 2004, a revolutionary, lightweight, digital fiber optic audio snake. LightViper is now used in a wide variety of applications such as live broadcast applications (professional & college televised sporting events), fixed installations (performing arts centers, churches and theme parks), remote recording, and concert sound production. FiberPlex is a customer driven company and welcomes inquiries about our current products and suggestions regarding new products that serve the needs of our customers.
EngineeringEngineering is the foundation our company. Our engineering team contains vast experience in the areas of Professional Audio, Electronic Design, Fiber-Optic System Design, Mechanical Design, Satellite Communications, and Secure Communications. Our experience in fiber-optic design began in 1963 when the owners of FiberPlex designed and built their first fiber optic transport for the US Government. From this humble beginning Fiberplex now offers over 150 individual products for both government and commercial markets.
ManufacturingMuch of the manufacturing of FiberPlex and LightViper products is done in house at our facility in Annapolis Jct. Maryland. While we do sub-contract some of our printed circuit board and fiber optic cable assemblies, all of the final assembly and testing of both Fiberplex and LightViper products is done at our facility. Every product we manufacture is put through a series of stringent quality control checks, and every product is individually tested before shipping to our customers. All Fiberplex and LightViper products are made in the USA and carry a limited lifetime warranty. All of the metalwork used in FiberPlex and LightViper products is manufactured in-house in our state of the art machine shop. This shop contains a wide variety of fabrication devices including a CNC machine. Having our own metal shop allows us to do custom work such as stainless steel chassis, custom connector panels and custom silk screening. Our in house metal shop also allows us to accommodate changes in product design very quickly and efficiently. Interested in purchasing a LightViper system?
