One of the biggest challenges of the Shadow series design was to engineer a system that was simple to operate, yet offered the ability to handle very complex applications as well. For those who want to keep it simple, the Shadow offers the ability to select simple preset system configurations controlled from the front panel of the STP64— without any need for a computer. However, when a user needs more extensive system control, they can use Shadow SPSC software running on a MAC or PC computer. The STP64 includes capabilities from all available individual Shadow Modules (Audio, Intercom, Ethernet & Video, RS422/232/485, and TTL data) into one self contained 10U package. The STP64 module contains 64 channels of analog inputs and 64 channels of digital inputs, all on DB25 connectors. In addition, there are 64 channels of analog outputs and 64 channels of digital outputs (local split) all on dB25 connectors. Phoenix connectors are available as an option for installation applications. There are two other versions of the STP64 – The STP64M, which contains no mic preamps and has a MADI interface (for feeding a console), and the STP64ND, which is exactly the same as the STP64 except without any display or front panel controls. This applies for systems where the SPSC software is being used, and local control of the module is not necessary. MRT™—Multiport Routing Technology One of the most unique features of the STP64 is its extensive routing capabilities. Any input in the system can be routed to any & all outputs. Redundancy (fiber) can be achieved using a ring, star or daisy chain configuration, depending on the design and layout of the system Mic Preamplifier Quality The transformerless design of the Shadow mic preamp offers the user completely transparent and pristine audio quality. Adjustable remotely in 1 dB steps, the mic pre circuit design offers 58 dB of gain/attenuation from +8 to -50; it also calculates the optimum signal-to-noise ratio for each 1dB step without any “zipper” effect. Specifications are as follows:
Reliability With a variety of redundant power supply configurations, redundant fiber capability, superb mic pre’s, routing capability, bulletproof mechanical design and flexibility in operation and interface options, the LightViper Shadow brings the future of digital media data transport to you today. |
