The MP16 is the front-end audio module of the Shadow System. It can be used as a standalone 16-channel module, but also is integrated into an STP64 for switchable control over the entire matrix.

The transformerless design of the Shadow mic preamp offers the user completely transparent and pristine audio quality. Adjustable remotely in 1 dB steps, the mic pre circuit design offers 58 dB of gain/attenuation from +8 to -50; it also calculates the optimum signal-to-noise ratio for each 1dB step without any “zipper” effect. While the specs on the mic pre are impressive, a subjective listening test will prove that this mic pre will become a favorite among many for years to come. Specifications are as follows:
