For live production applications, tactical grade fiber and tactical grade connectors are essential. While units with TAC-4 connectors mounted directly to the chassis are available, the recommended approach, and the approach that lends the most flexibility is to outfit all of the electronics in a system with ST connectors, and use VPL panels with ST pigtails to connect between the ST connectors on the units to the TAC-4 cable. These panels are 1U tall, and contain 1, 2 or 3 TAC-4 panel mount connectors respectively. These panel mount TAC-4 connectors have (4) fiber connections via (4) ST pigtails. Panels with Neutrik OpticalCon® connectors are also available.
