The 4832 system consists of a VIS-4832 head end or “stagebox”, a VIM-1832 tail end or “mixer box”, and optionally a VIM-1032 tail end “split box”. Up to 2 splits may be used with this system.

VIM-MY32 mini YGDAI cards can be used in place of the VIM-1832 in applications using Yamaha digital consoles.

On the VIS-4832 all audio connections are made via DB25 connectors, with 32 simultaneous analog line level AND AES3 digital inputs and a choice of 8 line level analog OR 8 AES3 digital outputs. Optics include a single fiber TX/RX pair standard, with 2 additional TX optics available for sending to splits. AC power is applied via standard IEC cable. This unit also contains a “Control” connection (RJ45) for transporting TTL data (or RS-422, 232, MIDI using a pair of MD3’s, or Yamaha protocol using a pair of DGL-422 dongles).

On the VIM-1832 all audio connections are made via DB25 connectors, with 32 simultaneous analog line level AND digital outputs and a choice of 8 line level analog OR 8 digital inputs. This unit contains the system clock which is natively 24 bit/96k but can also operate at 24bit/48k using the external clock input.

The VIM-1032 “split” box is exactly the same as the VIM-1832 except it does not contain a clock or returns. Optional Ethernet cards are available for all units (requires additional fiber pair).
